Andy Linton
Based in Wellington, New Zealand.
I've been to three ICANN meetings: Vancouver, Wellington and Los Angeles providing technical support for the network used by the meeting attendees.
I'm involved in Internet Governance in New Zealand - I'm a director of the Domain Name Commission [1] which manages the .nz ccTLD on behalf on InternetNZ and in the past I served on the board of Public Interest Registry [2], the .org manager.
I spent many years working as a builder of IP networks in New Zealand and Australia for academia, telcos and ISPs.
I'm going to be attending the Cairo meeting as part of a team from Westlake Consulting [3] undertaking a review of the DNS Root Server System Advisory Committee. See http://www.icann.org/en/reviews/rssac/ for more information on our brief.
We'll be conducting interviews, seeking comments and suggestions and we have a workshop scheduled:
Workshop: RSSAC Review Start: 5 Nov 2008 - 10:00 End: 5 Nov 2008 - 11:00 Room: Abdeen 1-3
I also work as a Teaching Fellow at Victoria University of Wellington in the School of Engineering and Computer Science [4] and in my copious free time I play guitar and bouzouki in an Irish band called Ballyscully [5]
