Regional Internet Registries (RIRs) manage, distribute, and register public Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and autonomous system numbers (ASNs) within their respective regions.
There are currently five RIRs:
IANA delegates large ranges of IP addresses to the RIRs, which then allocate the resources within their regions.
