The Boston Working Group (BWG) formed as a response to the open and public IFWP process.
When NTIA was accepting proposals for the formation of ICANN the BWG submitted a proposal that improved upon that submitted by Jones Day. The BWG proposal is still online at [[1]]
The BWG submission to NTIA was signed by Karl Auerbach, Mikki Barry, Peter Dengate Thrush, Patrick O’Brien, Milton Mueller, Ellen Rony, Peter Rony, David Schutt, and Eric Weisberg.
The BWG continues to exist. It has grown to include a number of active ICANN participants. Several BWG members have become ICANN board members. Other BWG members have held or hold positions on ICANN committees.
