ISOC Belgium
ISOC Belgium has been founded on November 16th 1998 as an initiatif of Cecilia Jorgenssen. After 2 years intensive work, she handed over the organisation to Rudi Vansnick, who since 2000 has been working on the "ressurection" of Internet Society Belgium. March 2001 till November 2003 have been a period of silence, due to professional occupations and the change within the internet world. End 2003, ISOC Belgium reopened his activities, with the willigness to build an important community.
The "Dag van de Technologie" (March 2004) has been the kick-off of many meetings with governmental bodies, organisations in telecom and standards, resulting in the official recognition of ISOC Belgium. During several months we have been working on documents, studied the ongoing change of attitudes in the Internet, preparing a new workplan and finalizing agreements. We have been participating in INET2004 in Barcelona. Rudi Vansnick has been nominated Chair of the ISOC European Coordination Council Elections Committee.
