OpenNIC

OpenNIC is a democratic, user-managed alternative root. In addition to its users sponsoring several of the roots own TLDs, the OpenNIC root also includes most of the TLDs included in the ICANN root.

OpenNIC also maintains peering agreements with other namespaces to allow users to resolve other alternative roots' TLDs.
