World Intellectual Property Organization

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations. WIPO was created in 1967 by the founding member States "desiring, in order to encourage creative activity, to promote the protection of intellectual property throughout the world". It has 182 member states, and administers 21 international treaties. The headquarters of WIPO are in Geneva, Switzerland. WIPO also administers domain name disputes under UDRP.
