  • Open 10 am until 6 pm, with a late night on Thursday (10 am until 9 pm)
  • Entry is FREE
  • Special current exhibits: Splendours of Japan and Precious Metals
  • There are also exhibits about the geological forces that shape New Zealand’s landscape, the tangata whenua (first discoverers of Aotearoa New Zealand), and New Zealand's diverse animals and plants.

There are free Explore Wellington brochures showing routes for walks around Wellington city. 2 hour walk and other walks. Pop into the Visitor Info centre at the corner of Wakefield and Victoria St. They will have the route maps etc for free.
