.lc is the ccTLD for Saint Lucia. It is managed by the University of Puerto Rico.[1]

Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

.lc is an Open ccTLD, and it available for anyone to register.[2]

To register a domain name, the applicant must demonstrate a legitimate interest in the domain name and certifies that the use of this name does not violate trademark or other statutes. Also, that the registration of the domain name does not interfere with the rights of any third party, nor is the domain name being registered for any unlawful purpose.[3] A domain name may be revoked if it is used for offensive, immoral or illegal purposes, including "Spam".[2]

Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]

".com.lc", ".net.lc", ".co.lc", and ".org.lc" are currently available to any and all registrants worldwide, as is directly under .lc.

However, ".edu.lc" is available only to valid local Educational Institutions, and ".gov.lc" is available only. to valid local Government departments, agencies, ministries, etc.[2]

Other available extensions are ".l.lc", and ".p.lc".[4]

Characters[edit | edit source]

  • Only letters, numbers, or hyphen ("-") allowed in domain names.
  • Domain names cannot begin or end with a hyphen.
  • Maximum length of domain names is 63 characters
  • Maximum length of a complete (Fully Qualified, FQDN) domain name (including .separators) is 255 characters.
  • Minimum length of a domain name is 1 character.
  • A name may begin with a digit.[2]

Usage[edit | edit source]

The official registry website markets the .lc name space as an unique way to represent "Limited Companies" (LC), such as company.LC, company.L.LC, company.P.LC, also available worldwide.[4]
