Rules and Restrictions[edit | edit source]

The official website for the .kn ccTLD registration, nic.kn as of 2024, has mainly broken links. An archived page from 2007 shows that will be stated below:

.kn is available to any and all registrants worldwide.

A domain name may be revoked if it is used for offensive, immoral or illegal purposes, this includes "Spam".[2]

Second-level Domains[edit | edit source]

Just like directly under .kn, ".net.kn", and ".org.kn" are currently available to anyone.

".edu.kn" is available only to valid local Kittitian and Nevisian Educational Institutions.

In the case of restricted second or third level domains (such as ".edu.kn"), applicants may be asked to provide proof of their identity, or details of their existence as a properly constituted Kittitian/Nevisian organisation, and evidence of their ability to meet the conditions for holding such a domain name.

For the purposes of registration policies and prices, Kittitian/Nevisian "offshore" or "International" companies are not considered local Kittitian/Nevisian entities. Dot KN will use established laws and government policies to determine who or what constitues Kittitian/Nevisian entities.[2]
