Adela Danciu has been a Lawyer Linguist at the Council of the European Union since June 2013, where she revises legal acts adopted by the European Union and the Council.[1] Her Internet governance interests focus on human rights and legal issues.[2]

Danciu was a Legal Expert at Romanian Banking Institute and an E-learning Tutor and was a Programme Coordinator at DiploFoundation for over six years. At DiploFoundation, she coordinated the development of new course materials, managed online training courses, and wrote course materials on legal aspects related to Internet.[1] She joined DiploFoundation after completing the Internet Governance Capacity Building Programme a year before.

Adela represents the Association for Technology and Internet, a Romanian NGO, at EURALO. She has attended ICANN 13 in Bucharest, ICANN 32 in Paris, and was an ICANN Fellow at ICANN 43 in San Jose, Costa Rica.[3]

Career History

From 2001-2009, she was a Parliamentary Expert at Romanian Chamber of Deputies - Committee for IT&C, where she worked on harmonizing the Romanian Telecommunications Legislation with the acquis communautaire and carried out comparative legal analysis on the compatibility of bills initiated in the ICT field. She worked as an Assistant Policy Officer at European Commission for 6 months (Sept. 2008 - Feb. 2009) within the Unit dealing with Internet Governance issues in DG Information Society. She also taught on e-government and e-democracy in the Faculty of Political Sciences of National School of Political and Administrative Sciences in Bucharest (2004-2006) and worked as a lawyer (1999-2000).[1]

Education

She graduate in Law (in 1998) and Political Sciences (in 2004) from the University of Bucharest and holds an MA in International and EU Law from "Nicolae Titulescu" University in Bucharest.[1]
