In April 2011, SIDN pointed out the need for explanation in budget plan proposed by ICANN for fiscal year 2012. CEO of SIDN, Roelof Meijer, told ICANN that budget regarding new [[gTLD]]s, ICANN's core operations as well as general financial aspects was over estimated and should be reviewed before finalization. Addition of new [[gTLD]] program is increasing the budget with the amount of more than 50 percent of total budget of ICANN. Moreover ICANN does not even have the minimum set amount in its reserve fund. According to Strategic Plan of ICANN, it should have funds at hand needed for one year of operation.
