Brand Protection Achievements

In May of 2009, Safenames successfully recovered a variety of domain names for five major soccer clubs within the English Premier League. The company was able to link the disparate trademark infringements into a single case and file on behalf of Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Fulham, and West Ham clubs. They filed with WIPO using the UDRP. The WIPO panel ruled in their favor. Examples of the violations include:,,,[2]

Safenames was able to successfully recover "", despite the fact that the three-time World Poker Champion, Gus Hansen, did not have a registered trademark on his name. The recovery, which took place in September of 2009, was made possible through a UDRP filing with the WIPO; they demonstrated that the domain was registered in bad faith.[3]
