In late spring 2021...

"Review fatigue" has been a persistent complaint within the ICANN Community. As our timeline graphic (above) shows, there have been very few points in ICANN's history when there were no reviews, or only one review, in progress. The [[Third Accountability and Transparency Review]] has addressed this review glut head on. Among other reforms, the ATRT 3 team made the following recommendations:

* The [[ICANN Domain Name System Symposium]] ([https://www.icann.org/ids IDS]), ICANN and [[GDD]]'s annual joint meeting on DNS security, took place from May 25 to 27. The symposium focused on risk tradeoffs, how the threat landscape has evolved, measurements, and mitigation measures.

* Convert organizational reviews to "continuous improvement processes" within each [[Supporting Organizations|SO]] & [[Advisory Committee|AC]];

 

* Utilize the feedback and findings of these continuous improvement processes, as well as annual meetings of the SOs and ACs, to inform a new, "holistic" review that engages with the ICANN organization as a whole; and  

* The [https://www.igfusa.us/igf-usa-2021/ IGF USA conference] was held in mid-July, addressing a wide range of issues around Internet governance, interoperability, and accessibility for all. ICANNWiki board member [[Dustin Loup]], Executive Director of [[ISOC DC]] and co-chair of IGF USA, co-hosted the welcome session.

* Reform or remove most of the [[ICANN Reviews#Specific Reviews|reviews required under Article 4.6]] of the ICANN Bylaws.

 

* The digital economy [[SaaS]] Platform [[NetObjex]] began its official collaboration with [[Zortag]] to fight [[NFT]] counterfeiting.<ref>[https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/netobjex-partners-with-zortag-for-anti-counterfeiting-and-tracking-of-assets-for-the-digital-economy-301281848.html NetObjex & Zortag Collab Press Release]</ref>
