OASIS is the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards, a nonprofit consortium that encourages the development, convergence, and adoption of open standards for Cybersecurity, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), emergency management, Cloud Computing, legal data exchange, energy, and content technologies.[1]

History

OASIS was originally called “SGML Open." Founded in 1993, it was a consortium of vendors and users focused on developing guidelines for interoperability among products supporting the Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML). In 1998, the organization's name was changed to OASIS.
