.hitachi is a delegated gTLD in ICANN's new gTLD program. Hitachi Ltd. manages the TLD and is its Registry. The proposed application succeeded and was delegated to the Root Zone on 01 May, 2015.[1]. The Japanese company has teamed up with GMO Registry to run its technical functions; GMO is also based in Tokyo.[2]

Hitachi Ltd. is a Japanese global company engaged in manufacturing a wide range of products from appliances, electronic components, defense systems, infrastructure systems, ICT systems, rail systems, and urban planning and development systems. Hitachi was established in 1910 when the company developed the first five-horsepower induction motor. In 2011, the company reported $112.2 billion revenue. Its headquarters is located in Tokyo, Japan and maintains international regional headquarters. Hiroaki Nakanishi is the President of the company.[3]

Hitachi Ltd. is a multinational conglomerate that has 11 distinct divisions and is part of a larger group of companies. Its divisions include Information and Telecommunication Systems, Electrical Systems, Social and Industrial Systems, Automotive Systems, Electronic Component Devices, Construction, and Financial services.[4]
