Frederico Neves is currently the CTO for Brazilian NIC, and serves on the Executive Board as its Services and Technology Director.[1]

Frederico Neves and SSAC[edit | edit source]

Frederico Neves is a Member of the SSAC[2]; In 2010 he was appointed as a SSAC member for partial term starting the 1st of January until the 31st of December 2011.[3]

Frederico Neves is also part of the following organizations:

  • Registro.br - For registering ".br" domain names, allocating ASN and IPv6 addresses;
  • CERT - The Brazilian National Computer Emergency Response Team;
  • CEPTRO - The Center of Study and Research in Network Technology and Operations;
  • CETIC - The Center of Studies on Information and Communication Technologies; for the Brazilian Internet development;
  • W3C - The Brazilian office of W3C which recommends procedures and promoted studies for network improvement.
  • LACNIC - for technical and operational support. [4]

Furthermore, Frederico Neves was in 2008 a member of the Registry Services Technical Evaluation Panel of ICANN. [5]

About Brazilian NIC[edit | edit source]

The Brazilian NIC was created with the purpose of implementing the decisions of the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee (CGI.br). At his turn, the Brazilian ISC is responsible with the coordination and integration of Internet services within the country. In this way, the Brazilian NIC is the executive part of the Internet Steering Committee. [6]

Frederico Neves and ICANN[edit | edit source]

Being the CTO of Brazil NIC, Frederico is also in touch with the ICANN. Both organizations are struggling to make the Internet a better place for everyone, and Frederico is struggling to allow Brazil to enjoy the best of the Internet.
