Antonio Tavares was elected twice as ISPCP's representative to the NomCom, in 2003 and 2004.[1] He works with CGI.br.[2] He has been influential in creating special Working Groups and Committees within the ISPCP and CGI.br.[3]

Mr. Tavares was involved in the organization and coordination of ICANN's meetings in Brazil, which took place in 2003 in Rio and in Sao Paolo in 2006.[4]

He is fluent in English, French, Spanish and Portuguese. The meetings went well, and brought together more than 800 individuals. He frequently writes and lectures on Internet issues.[5]
