Plamena Petrova Popova

Plamena Petrova Popova is an Assistant Professor in IP Law at the University of Library Studies and IT in Sofia, Bulgaria, a position she has held since 2006. She has also been a Legal Advisor at Turcu, Tadjer & Turcu OOD since 2008.[1] She was an ICANN Fellow at ICANN 45 in Toronto, Canada,[2] and at ICANN 46 in Beijing.[3]

Career History

In Fall 2010, Popova was a Visiting Scholar for The Karnochan Center International Visiting Scholar program, which invited academics from all over the world to study at Columbia Law School. The program focuses on copyright law in the United States and aims to promote cooperation between the U.S. and the visiting academics' home countries. During a stay at Columbia, Popova researched and compared Google Books' settlement agreement with similar provisions related to the digitization of materials in Europe.[4]

From 2011 to 2012, she was a member of International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA), an international body leading library and information services, serving on the Committee on Copyright and Other Legal Matters.[1]
