He was previously the Chair of [http://www.efa.org.au| Electronic Frontiers Australia], as well as a staff member and Ph.D. candidate at Curtin University's Department of Internet Studies in Western Australia. He currently works in the cyber security industry.

He has been active in many GNSO working groups, and was one of the Vice-Chairs of the Next Generation RDS Working Group. He was also a Vice-Chair of the NCSG Policy Committee. Currently he is an alternate in the [[Temp. Spec. EPDP Working Group|Expedited Policy Development Process on the Temporary Specification for gTLD Registration Data (EPDP)]].
