"The mission of the .餐厅 (“餐厅” in simplified Chinese is the equivalent to the English term “Restaurant”) gTLD Registry is to provide leading gTLD registry services to restaurant and dining establishments with focus on the Greater China and global Chinese speaking markets.

At the heart of our mission is our commitment towards improving the public’s quality of life by creating a gTLD environment that fosters innovation in online technologies and services that address the needs of restaurant and dining businesses and their customers through interactivity and e-commerce.

The purpose of our efforts to apply for, develop and operate a domain name registry around a .餐厅 gTLD is based on our desire to fulfill very basic, practical, and fast growing food consumption needs in modern Greater China. The culinary arts and dining have been an integral part of Chinese society and culture for thousands of years and are even more prevalent in modern China today. As modern Chinese society continues its rapid growth in the 21st Century, dining habits are changing equally fast. With an exploding middle class encumbered by hectic work⁄life schedules, traditional at-home dining is being supplanted by dining out. Similarly, a longstanding culture of business meetings centered around meals and formal dining, is continuously driving business people on a never ending quest for newer, fresher and more elegant dining venues to meet their needs. And with disposable income increasing among both younger and middle-aged demographics, social lives are being spent more and more in dining establishments. Therefore, food and beverage service providers (Over 5 million dining establishments in China grossing over 2 trillion Yuan per year) are constantly challenged to innovate and stay ahead of competition in an ever changing consumer marketplace that is increasingly reliant on computer and mobile technologies to help them make their dining decisions. Our aim is to make the .餐厅 gTLD the leading gTLD domain registry for businesses wanting to deliver these technologies and services to consumers.

Hu Yi Global’s sister company, Guangdong Hu Yi Science Co. Ltd.(Guangdong Hu Yi) located in Guangzhou, China, also founded and majority owned by Mr. Xiongwei Huang, is a provider of Internet Addressing and Intellectual Property Protection services. Ltd., another subsidiary of Guangdong Hu Yi, is a specialized Intellectual Property Rights related service platform and is a member of the China Chapter of The International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI), the International Trademark Association (INTA), the China Trademark Association and other industry organizations.

The.餐厅 registry will develop and operate the domain registry and manage the .餐厅 domain in the interests of the restaurant and dining industries and public. The .餐厅 registry will work with relevant government and industry related organizations to develop, maintain and enforce domain management policies that help promote fair, consistent and efficient registration and usage of the .餐厅 gTLD.

Registration and usage of the .餐厅 gTLD is restricted to restaurant and dining establishments that: (1) provide restaurant and dining services to consumers; (2) have an actual physical restaurant or dining establishment or business that serves consumable food and beverages to customers; and (3) whose business and services are relevant to the restaurant and dining industries.
