.bangaluru is a proposed GeoTLD in ICANN's new gTLD program, being applied for by a joint venture between Minds + Machines and India TL Domain with support from the Mayor of the city of Bengaluru.

At this time, the TLD is somewhat vexing given that it is a intentional misspelling of the city's name. The official name of the city is Bengaluru (with an "e"), though it was known as Bangalore during colonialism, the proposed GeoTLD, however, is spelled .b'a'ngaluru. It is not clear why the name is being spelled this way.[1]
