.blog is a new generic top level domain name (gTLD) proposal to ICANN's new gTLD expansion program by Primer Nivel in partnership with My.co (Central Comercializadora de Internet, an ICANN accredited registrar and Radix, a subsidiary business of Directi, a company based in Dubai which own various registrar and web hosting businesses. Primer Nivel aims to use the .blog TLD to provide a unique address for bloggers worldwide and to use it as an internet space for freedom of speech and information. Qinetics will provide back-end registry solutions while CommunityDNS will provide DNS services and data escrow provider for the .blog string will be the NCC Group.[4] [5]

On the other hand, Ari Registry Services will serve as the back-end registry service provider for Radix.[6]

The .blog TLD is expected as one the most contested domain name string.
