.citi is a Brand TLD being proposed in ICANN's New gTLD Program. The applicant is Citigroup Inc.[1]
Citigroup filed several comments with ICANN, claiming that the .citi TLD is not confusingly similar to .city, which has three applications. In several past UDRP cases, however, Citigroup has argued that the two words are confusingly similar, and won, leading to the suspension of domain names using "city" in a manner similar to Citigroup trademarks.[2]
