.direct is a proposed top level domain name (TLD) to ICANN's new gTLD expansion program.
Applicants
Two entities submitted application for the TLD to seek ICANN's approval for its inclusion in the root zone of the internet domain name system (DNS) and to manage its registry operations. The applicants include: [1]
- Half Trail, LLC - The company is linked with Donuts, a new registry company that filed for 307 new gLDs, each under different company names.[2]
- Dish DBS Corporation - The company is operates the Dish Network offering direct broadcast satellite to millions of customers in the United States. The company applied for the string as Brand gTLD. [3]
