.dm is the ccTLD of Dominica.[1]

The DotDM Domain Name Registry is based in The English-speaking Commonwealth of Dominica (not to be confused with the Spanish-speaking Dominican Republic), known as the Nature Island of the Caribbean because of its majestic mountains rising 4,747 feet out of the Caribbean Sea, and its lush, tropical rain forests.

Dominica is recognised in the Guinness Book of World Records as the first country in the World to implement a fully digital Telecommunications System and is fast developing into a major centre for International Business. It considers itself as a land of opportunity for investors who are prepared for long-term commitment and who prefer to conduct their business in a clean, lush and naturally appealing environment.

Dominica's English-speaking, well-educated population of approximately 70,000 is known for its warmth and hospitality and is keen to encourage the island's growth and development, without changing the essential and unique physical characteristics of this Garden of Eden.

Selected as the First Green Globe Destination in the Caribbean and rated as among the Top Five Dive Destinations by SkinDiver Magazine, Dominica is home to the World's largest boiling lake and the UNESCO Morne Trois-Piton Park World Heritage Site. The Nature Island is also home to some 3000 Indigenous Kalinago Indians and 40 year old Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit, The World's Youngest Prime Minister!

The DotDM Corporation dedicates its marketing efforts of .dm Domain Names worldwide to further promote development of the Nature Island of the Caribbean on an Economic and Social level. Through Strategic Global Partnerships, the .dm Registry serves as a catalyst for generating revenue and heightening interest in Investment Opportunities and Tourist Resources offered in the Commonwealth of Dominica. History and Corporate Profile

In 1997, when Internet Technology was rapidly developing and there was an increasing demand for domain names to be used within emerging cultures and economies, the concept of domain name registration was introduced to the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica by the DotDM Corporation.

On February 2nd, 2001, at a time when a number of unique challenges and opportunities existed, the .dm name was introduced to the global marketplace by .dm Registry. It was felt that the .dm domain name, supported by strategic promotional efforts directed at clearly identified niche markets, was perfectly poised to serve the needs of a variety of Internet interests spanning numerous languages and cultures. Over the years, showcasing the many offerings of the Commonwealth of Dominica including International Business, Digital Communications and unique Tourism Resources, the .dm domain name has embraced diverse markets.

Since the official re-delegation by IANA in 2007, the DotDM Corporation has been negotiating and forging the most viable and responsible relationships aimed at establishing a unique presence for the Commonwealth of Dominica in the cyber-marketplace. In addition, dm Registry has supported the development of various multi-sectoral Rural Community groups and related activities.

On June 25th, 2012 at the ICANN Meeting in Prague, the DotDM Corporation re-launched the .DM Registry Platform through partnership with Key-Systems GmbH and KSregistry GmbH. Currently, .dm domains are currently offered by thirteen (13) registrars, including Key-Systems' Reseller portal RRPproxy. Applications continue to be accepted for strategically selected Registrars and Re-sellers who are committed in Policy to supporting the Goals and Mission of the DotDM Corporation's Registry.
