"The term “rehab” is a generic and broadly used word that holds particular affinity for people, professionals and organizations interested and involved with a wide range of rehabilitation services. Global in scope, today a passionate group of millions of individuals and organizations identify with this word. The mission and purpose of the .rehab TLD is to establish an easily recognized and accessible namespace for this large and dynamic group.
The .rehab TLD is proposed by United TLD Holdco Ltd. On 6 March 2014 Rightside received a Registry Agreement signed by ICANN for .rehab after passing all the required processes needed to become a Registry Operator for the string.[4]
