Ashley Cross is the General Manager of GM, E-commerce Diffusion in The Australian Government Information Management Office (former Australian National Office for the Information Economy). [1] He is also the Australian Representative to the GAC (Governmental Advisory Committee ) for ICANN[2]

Ashley Cross has published several articles and research papers on the Internet and Domain industry of Australia.[3] He acts as the Australian representative for different meetings and events held by national and international Internet Industry related organizations.

In April 2006, Ashley Cross wrote a letter[4] to ICANN's domain name policy making organization , GNSO Council, about the new policy on the purpose of WHOIS. [5]. This letter caused considerable amount of specualtions among the Internet and Domain specialists as some of them critisized his stand as a GAC representative and his role in the Australian Government for the new privacy issue.
