Ayesha Hassan has been the Senior Director of Stakeholder Relations at Internet Society since May 2014. She is responsible for optimizing the Internet Society’s relationships with key stakeholders in the future of the Internet.[1]

Hasan formerly managed the International Chamber of Commerce's policy work on E-Business, IT and Telecoms.[2][1] ICC is the voice of businesses worldwide, working towards the enhancement of economic growth, job creation and overall prosperity of businesses globally. She is also the in charge of ICC’s initiative, BASIS. Ms. Hassan serves on the multistakeholder advisory group for the Internet Governance Forum.[3]

Career History

Ms. Hassan has extensive experience as a lawyer, and specializes in dispute resolution, international policy, and e-commerce issues. She has been the head of the Online Dispute Resolution Services at SquareTrade.[4]

She manages the Coordinating Committee of Business Interlocutors (CCBI).[5] She has served the UN Secretary-General’s Task Force on Financial Mechanisms. She has represented ICC on a number of occasions, including at conferences like the G8 Dot Force, the UN Information and Communication Technologies Task Force and other events hosted by the OECD, the WTO, ITU Telecoms and the EU Commission.[6]

She was a Faculty member at the Euro-NF Summer School on Socio Economic and Governance Issues.[7]

From 1990 to 1997 she worked at a number of French law firms.[1]

Education

She holds an undergraduate degree in political science from the University of Chicago, studied law at the University of San Diego and holds a Masters in international policy studies from Stanford University.
