J. Beckwith (“Becky”) Burr is a Partner at Harris, Wiltshire & Grannis LLP[1] and a current member of the ICANN Board of Directors, selected by the GNSO for the term of November 2016 - AGM 2022.
Career
Burr served as the Deputy General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer at Neustar from May 2012 to March 2019.[2] In that capacity, she is responsible for implementing the company’s “privacy by design” program and ensuring that the company maintains state-of-the-art privacy and data security to protect customer and consumer information. As an expert on Internet governance, Burr provides policy and legal advice related to the company's provision of Internet domain name registry services.
Prior to joining Neustar, Burr was a partner at the Washington D.C. law firm Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale, and Dorr, LLP. She is a veteran of the Federal Trade Commission and the National Telecommunications & Information Administration. Becky left the government in October 2000, to practice law.
