Bill Sandiford is a Board Member of CIRA, the national ccTLD registry for Canada's .ca (2012-2015); a member of ARIN's Advisory Council (2010-2012); President and CTO of Telnet Communications, a small-medium sized ISP; President of the Canadian Network Operators Consortium (CNOC) (2010 - 2014), of which he has been a founding member, President, and Chair of the Board;[1] and a member of the MetaSwitch User's Board, which liaises between all MetaSwitch customers worldwide and MetaSwitch's engineering department and executives.[2] He was a member of the Board of the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX), TorIX board from 2009 - 2011, serving as Vice-President for half of that time.[3]

He is a participant within NANOG, ICANN, and other related regulatory and technical bodies.[4]

Mr. Sandiford has spent his career with Telnet Communications, a company he founded in 1996; through this work with Telnet, and as an advisor or board member to ISP and Internet regulation organizations, he has gained extensive experience in technology, regulatory, business processes, and group governance. He had been a featured speaker at a variety of technical and industry conferences.[5][6]

Technical passions include educating users about the necessary deployment of IPv6.[7]

Fun Fact

One of Bill's favorite pastimes is piloting his Cessna aircraft around North America and the Caribbean.[8]
