Chris Chaplow is the Founder and Managing Director at Andalucia.com SL. He founded it in 1996 and has been serving as its Managing Director ever since. The site brings in over 450,000 visitors every month and is the most popular site focused on tourism in Andalucia, and Southern Spain.[1] He is also the Founder and Director of Andalucia Web Solutions,[2] where he helps his clients build their domaining portfolio, protect their intellectual property rights, protect themselves from cybersquattting, and learn about new gTLD developments and other ICANN related policy issues.[3]

ICANN

Chris Chaplow is also a member of the Commercial and Business Users Constituency of ICANN , and is currently its community Vice-Chair.[4] He has also been a representative on the Communications and Coordination Work Team, which worked on developing new GNSO Website requirements.[5]

Background

Mr. Chaplow has an honours degree in Civil Engineering from King¹s College, London and has managed a number of major construction projects, including: the Watford Grandstand, the Twickenham South Grandstand and the Stavely Bypass. He has worked on other infrastructure projects in Gibraltar and the Safeway Superstore, before his interest in Andalucia, photography and computers led him to Spain.[6]

Mr. Chaplow is a longtime member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Spain (BCCS), and was elected to the Governing Council in 2008 and was subsequently appointed BCCS National Press Officer.[7]
