Chris is considered very experienced in several areas including insolvency litigation. He has also worked on criminal appeals and has argued several judicial review cases to the Court of Appeals. He has also appeared in the Maori Land Court, Taxation Review Authority and other tribunals.

Chris LaHatte is the current ICANN Ombudsman, a position he has held since July, 2011.[1] Prior to this, he was a Barrister for 33 years. His role in ICANN is centered around dispute resolution.[2] He is a member of Building Adjudicators, a Fellow of AMINZ in Mediation and Arbitration, an editor for Brookers District Court Procedure, and a Costs Assessor and Mediator for the New Zealand Law Society in Auckland and Wellington.[3]
