Davor Sostaric is the secretary at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Directorate for Information Society, Slovenia.[1]
He is also the Slovenian accredited represenative in the European Group for Policy Coordination for Academic and Industrial Research Networking (ENPG), ICANN’s Governmental Advisory Group (GAC)[2], European Commission’s High Level Group on Internet Governance (HLIG). and (on behalf of the Presidency of EU) a member of Multistakeholder Advisory Group for United Nations Internet Governance Forum (IGF). On national IPv6 area, he is an active promotor of IPv6 deployment and member of the national IPv6 platform’s Expert Council.[3]
Davor Sostaric is a graduate of Mathematics. Prior to his employment in public administration, he has been involved in academic and research areas (computer sciences and networking). Today, he covers various fields regarding information society, internet, information infrastrucutre, WSIS process, internet governance etc.
Career History
- He worked System Analyst/Programmer at Metalka, Ljubljana for 1 year.[4]
- He worked System Programmer, Consultant, Head of Department at University Computer Center, Maribor for 11 years.
- He served as the Director at University Computer Center, Mariborfor 3 years.
- He was the Counsellor to the Minister at Dept. for Information Infrastructure of Ministry of Science for 7 years.
- He served as the Counsellor to the Government at Ministry of Information Society for 3 years.
