Don Moody is a Los Angeles-based Technology Attorney at Genga & Associates P.C., specializing in intellectual property rights enforcement and technology-oriented legal issues. [1] The practice involves protecting all forms of intellectual property (patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, celebrity names and likenesses) on the internet, in software, electronic devices, on video game platforms and other digital environments.[2]

Don also has an extensive background in domain name related matters, having represented clients in domain-related arbitration proceedings in both the U.S. and international forums. He is a specialist in matters involving online fraud and phishing schemes, enforcement of the CAN-SPAM Act (and/or its state law equivalents), disputes involving open source software, and the efficient management and production of electronic evidence.[3]

Career History

Prior to embarking on a legal career, Mr. Moody served as one of the senior strategic alliance managers for J2 Global Communications, Inc., corporate parent of the popular "eFax" Internet-based fax service. Moody also co-founded an IT consultancy which advised local start-ups and SME's on databases, enterprise-level application suites and high-speed networking.

Education

Mr. Moody has a bachelor's degree and a law degree from UCLA, and is admitted to practice before the USPTO, trial and appellate courts in California and Washington D.C., U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Central, and Southern Districts of California, the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Ninth and Federal Circuits, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, and the Supreme Court of the United States.
