Dot.love is a private, not-for-profit association organised in Brisbane, Australia under Queensland state law. It is also a movement which aims to gather people's support to be able to submit its application with ICANN to distribute .love as a new gTLD.

The management committee believes that dot.love enables love at a collective level. It will serve as a link between the virtual world and the real world to promote love worldwide.[1]

Dot.love is concentrating on achieving its objective by doing activities on a three step process:[2]

  1. Application phase: dot.Love Inc. is currently working to prepare an application to ICANN to be able to distribute the .love domain name.
  2. Commercial phase: Once ICANN approves the dot.Love Inc. application, it will establish the ability to delegate .love domain names to the public to be able generate income.
  3. Philanthropic phase: The income from its commercial activities will be donated to groups and organisations that share the organizations vision by actively engaging in promoting love by caring for others and working to make the world a better place to live.
