The company confirmed that its application for the .saarland string was submitted to ICANN on May 30, 2012 supported by the Federal State of Saarland and its parent organization, dotSaarland eV, Saarland Chamber of Commerce (IHK) and the Chamber of Crafts (HWK Saarland).[2]
The registration of domain names under the .saarland string is not restricted.
