'Dot VN, Inc.' is co-founded by 'Mr. Thomas M. Johnson' and 'Dr. Lee P. Johnson' in 1998. It is the principal domain registry (.vn) for country code Top Level Domain (ccTLD) in Vietnam. The company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Hi-Tek Multimedia, Inc. received a long-term contract from the Vietnamese government making it the sole provider of internet and telecommunications infrastructure solutions and services in the country.

'Dot VN, Inc.' is the only company given the authority by the Vietnam Network Information Center '(VNNIC)' to register and approve domain names submitted for registration by any entity. Its network is directy connected to the agency’s root server.

'VNNIC' is an under the Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) in Vietnam and it is responsible in managing, allocating, supervising and promoting the use of Internet domain names, addresses, autonomous system numbers, providing Internet-related guidance, statistics on Internet usage. It also represents the country in any internet-related events and conferences.

At present, 'Dot VN. Inc.' has 90 local resellers and more than 100 international resellers for the domain registry (.vn).

In 2009, the Vietnamese government through VNNIC also granted 'Dot VN, Inc.' the contract to market PPC parking page, commercialize advertising around the world in the Internet and the exclusive rights to distribute and sell mobile data center solutions and multi-gigabit wireless applications in Vietnam and its neighboring countries in Southeast Asia. The company’s partners in providing internet and other technology solutions for Vietnam include E-Band Communications Corporation, Elliptical Mobile Solutions, LLC, Key-Systems GmbH, NameDrive, LLC, SaoBacDau Technologies Group and 'VNNIC'.

The company’s main office is located in San Diego California and it maintains offices in Hanoi, Danang and Ho Chi Minh cities in Vietnam.
