EuroDNS is an Internet domain registrar based in Luxembourg, with other branch offices thoughout Europe, the U.S., and Asia. It was founded in 2002 by Xavier Buck, the current CEO of the company.[1]

EuroDNS is accredited by both ICANN[2] and EURid.[3] According to its official website, EuroDNS has accreditation with more than 70 registries worldwide.[4]

History

  • In 2006, EuroDNS focused on setting up two new registration services: asiaDNS, which specializes in Asian ccTLDs,[6] and EnumDNS,[7] which specializes in ENUM registration services.[8]
  • In 2008, EuroDNS announced that it was the first ICANN-accredited registrar to sign up to distribute the new communications-focused .tel TLD.[9]
  • In June, 2010, EuroDNS and Open Source email and collaboration software provider, Open-Xchange Webmail, announced an agreement to provide Open-Xchange webmail service to more than 250,000 EuroDNS customers at no additional charge.[10]
  • EuroDNS formed a strategic partnership with Dynamic Network Services Inc. (Dyn Inc.) in October, 2010.[11]
  • In July, 2010, EuroDNS announced the opening of the general availability period for .co domain names.[12]
  • EuroDNS extended their services further by starting to provide domain name registration support for Norway. The Sunrise Period for the new .co.no extension opened in November 2010 and lasted until January 31st, 2011.[13]
