Gaurav Vedi is the Head of Registry Operations for Dominion Registries performing Product Management/Strategy/Operations for TLDs - .Homes, .Autos, .Boats, .Yachts and .Motorcycles. He also performs ICANN compliance w.r.t to RA, RRA and Registration Policies for corresponding TLDs and involved in Channel development and Strategic Aliances too. He is an active member on several ICANN Internet Policy governance initiatives such as GDPR, RDAP, RZ-LGR etc.
Career History
Gaurav Vedi has almost 10 years experience in the domain name industry. Prior to joining Dominion, he worked as Technical Manager with Verisign for 8 years and managed multiple teams and programs implementing new gTLDs, IDNs, DNS, DNSSEC and RPMs (TMCH, sunrise, claims) etc. He holds MBA from the University of Maryland, College Park - Robert Smith business school and Masters computers from Jamia university. He is also certified PMP from PMI.org. He also provided technical training to team members, developed knowledge base technical support documentation, and managed DNS services. He was the team expert on Internationalized Domain Names and Shared Registration Systems. He is an active member of Registry stakeholder Group (RySG) of GNSO and participates in providing feedback on several policy drafts from PDP WG. He is also Chief Technical Liaison and Member Board of Directors for Domain Name Association (theDNA.org). He is also a serving member on Customer Standing Committee (CSC) with ICANN to monitor Public Technical Identifier’s (PTI) performance of the IANA naming function against the service level expectations in the IANA Naming Function Contract.
ICANN and Internet Governance Participation
Gaurav is an active member of gTLD Registries Stakeholder Group (RySG) of GNSO and participates as a volunteer in providing feedback on several policy drafts from PDP WG. He attended ICANN61 in San Juan, Puerto Rico, ICANN62 in Panama and ICANN63 in Barcelona.
Education
Gaurav Vedi holds two Masters degrees. He completed MBA degree from University of Maryland, College Park - Robert Smith business school in USA and Masters of Computer Applications degree from Jamia University, India. He also hold Bachelors in Electronics from Delhi University, India. He is also a certified and skilled Project Management Professional (PMP) from PMI.org since 2009.
