Jaewon Son is a committee member of the Korea Internet Governance Forum (KrIGF), outreach coordinator of Youth4IG, and Asia Pacific Regional At-Large Organisation (APRALO) Member. She is interested in ensuring the multistakeholder model in internet governance which made her initiate the first youth session in Korea during the 8th KrIGF and speak on the issue at various meetings.

Jaewon was an outstanding performer awardee at the Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy (APIGA) 2018, and was a mentor and keynote speaker at APIGA 2019. She has attended ICANN 63 in Barcelona as a civilian expert appointed by Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), and ICANN 64 in Kobe as a NextGen. In addition, she will be attending ICANN66 in Montreal as NextGen Ambassador to enhancing youth participation. she has attended Asia Pacific Regional Internet Governance Forum (APrIGF) 2019 in Vladivostok, and Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC) 48 in Chiang Mai as a fellow and speaker; and as a speaker at IGF 2019 in Berlin. In addition, she has been selected as a fellow to attend ICANN 67 and appointed as civilian expert to attend APrIGF 2020in Kathmandu by KISA.

-Jaewon Son has studied in Diplomatische Akademie Wien and Korea University. After being awarded as one of the outstanding performers in APIGA 2018 (The Asia Pacific Internet Governance Academy), she was appointed by KISA (Korea Internet & Security Agency) to attend ICANN 63 (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) Annual General Meeting in Barcelona as a civilian expert. As a committee member of KIGA (Korea Internet Governance Alliance), she has prepared to organize the 8th KrIGF (Korea Internet Governance Forum) to encourage the local community to be aware of Internet-related issues and initiate Youth session in Korea. As a NextGen fellow, she has attended ICANN 64 in Kobe to present the role of the internet of things in disaster risk reduction.
