From 1997 until 2001, he worked for Net Benefit Plc as Chief Executive Officer and he was responsible in listing the company at the London Stock Exchange and acquisition of several companies. In 2001, he assumed the position of Business Development Director of Net Benefit plc and supervised technical operations and product and software development until 2005. He also served as Director of Nominet UK Ltd from 2003 until 2006. From 1998 until 1999, Robinson was the Deputy Chairman of [[CORE]], a non-profit membership association of internet domain name registrars accredited by [[ICANN]]. Jonathan Robinson is an entrepreneur and business development specialist. He is the founder of IPRota, a private company engaged in providing design and operation services as well as rights protection mechanisms for new gTLDs. He is also Co-Founder of Group NBT, a domain management company,[1] and serves as director of Ortegra, a company dedicated to helping entrepreneurs develop their ideas into profit-generating businesses.[2] He is on the Board of Directors at Afilias, registry operator of .info gTLD.[3]

He is the current chair of the GNSO Council.[4]
