Kris Seeburn has served Lecturer in Information Systems Audit and Control, IT & Enterprise Governance, Computer Security, Information warfare and Programme Director of the Master in Computer Security & Forensics / MSc Information Risk Management & MSc Business Enterprise Systems at the University of Technology, Mauritius and a seasoned Information Security Consultant. He is visiting professor to various universities on cyberlaw and internet governance. Today he is the Founder and Managing Partner of Riesling Consulting Group, focused on Audit and Advisory services and growing into a full end to end solution provider in Riesling Legal Services. Has completed various banking and finance audits as well as BASEL II and various other core standards audits and implementations. He has been actively participating on various International Standards bodies such as ISO/NIST. He has over 16+ years of experience. Holds Masters in Information Technology, Network Technology, MBA and also an LLM in Computer & Communications Law & various Industry Certifications in Audit, Governance, Security, Fraud, Forensics and Project Management.

He is a member of Advisory Board of The New Security Foundation, Member of The American College of Forensic Examiners & Institute of Forensics Science. He is President / Founder of the ISACA Mauritius Chapter, Chair of the Academic Program Subcommittee / Member of the Education and Dissemination Committee of ISACA. A Fellow and past Board Member of the International Professors Project also Vice President and Director of Governance and Policy International at Center for the Advancement of the Enterprise Architecture Profession and a member of the Digital Forensics Association (DFA). A Chartered Fellow of the British Computer Society, Chartered Engineer of the Engineering Council-UK, Senior Member of IEEE, he is Chair of IEEE Mauritius Section and also Chair of ISOC Mauritius Chapter [2] and also serves on the IEEE Africa Initiative. He is also a Board members of various organisations amongst is AFRINIC where he serves as Board Member and is Chair of the Finance & Audit Committee. He is a member of the ISACA – Government & Regulatory Advocacy Committee and also a member of the Diplofoundation. He has also been an Ambassador of ISOC to IGF in Baku in 2012.[1]

He sits on various National and Regional committees and boards on Governance and Security Management. A member of The Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University. He is also a Spokesperson for ISACA / ITGI as an expert in the fields of Security / Governance / Audit. He was Gold Medalist for the BCS Mauritius IT Personality of the Year award. Was made a Fellow of the Canterbury Christ Church University, UK His areas of expertise include Governance, IT policies and standards development, risk management, risk assessment and control evaluation, problem and incident management, disaster recovery planning, Secure Software, business process management and re-engineering.

Kris is a believer of multistakeholder principles, he is an AfriNIC board member since 2011 and is the ISOC Mauritius Chapter President. He has been an ISOC Ambassador to IGF 2012 in Baku.
