From January 2008 to October 2010, Hook served as NeuStar's President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining NeuStar, she served as the COO of AOL Wireless, after having been promoted from Senior Vice President of Wireless Operations at America Online, Inc. She has also served as President/CEO at Sunrocket Inc. From 1991 to 1995, Hook was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Time Warner Telecommunications. She joined Time Warner in 1989 as Special Advisor to the Vice Chairman. From 1987 to 1989, Lisa worked at the Federal Communications Commission as Legal Advisor to the Chairman.
