Maarten Botterman is the current Chair of the ICANN Board. He is also the Director of GNKS Consult BV.[1] Botterman was appointed by NomCom to join the ICANN Board at the AGM in Hyderabad, 2016. He was reappointed for a second term on the ICANN Board by the NomCom at ICANN 66, the AGM in Montréal, 2019, and elected as Chairman of the Board [2]. Prior to his appointment to the ICANN Board, from 2010 to 2016, Botterman was Chairman of the Public Interest Registry and has been a board member since 2008.[3] PIR is the non-profit GTLD responsible for managing the .org and the .ngo/.ong domain and five IDN variants of .org.
