    Don Moody is an attorney with over 20 years experience in the technology industry, advising companies on intellectual property, financial regulation, data privacy and other legal topics. Among other roles, Don served as lead Internet counsel for Skype from 2005-2012, and was on the "front lines" of the peer-to-peer music copyright wars in the early 2000s, having represented both Kazaa and BitTorrent for various IP matters. Don has had extensive involvement with domain name and Internet Governance issues, including with ICANN on various committees, such as its Intellectual Property Constituency (IPC).

    Currently, Don represents and counsels financial technology (FinTech) companies - with particular emphasis on virtual currencies (such as Bitcoin or Ethereum) and other "blockchain"-based technologies - on topics such as financial privacy and consumer protection. He is also involved with a number of cryptocurrency development projects and industry groups, including the Bitcoin Foundation.

    • On January 5, 2022, ICANN responded to the .hiphop situation, and the Uniregistry assignments generally.
    • On January 10, 2022, Monte Cahn, the President of Right of the Dot, founder and former CEO of Moniker, and former President of SnapNames announced his partnership with Neuman and Digital Asset Monetary Network to become the registry operator for .hiphop.
    • On January 13, 2022, DHH sent a letter withdrawing its reconsideration request and posting rebuttals to ICANN's blog post as it related to .hiphop.
    • On January 18, 2022, Karen Lentz posted a blog updating the community on the SUBPRO Operation Design Phase and identifying nine work tracks for the ODP.
