Margarita Valdes is from Santiago, Chile; she is the legal and business manager for NIC Chile. She was also a member of ICANN's NomCom, where she represented the ccNSO.
Margarita is in charge of designing the administrative and commercial policies as well as coordinating the administration of the local domain name dispute resolution system. She is at the fore of the steering group of NIC Chile and in the Chilean National Council for Domain Names and IP Numbers. Margarita also provides legal assistance in intellectual property, industrial property and cybercrime to different governmental organizations including the Chilean Civil Police, Ministries and Official Departments. She is the former President of LACTLD and participated as a permanent representative of NIC Chile before joining ICANN.
