Markus Kummer is the Executive Coordinator of the Secretariat supporting the Internet Governance Forum's (IGF) activity since March 2006.[1]
Professional experience
Before joining the IGF, Mr. Kummer had several other notable experiences:
- A career diplomat in the Swiss Foreign Ministry and served several functions in Lisbon, Geneva, Viena, Ankara and Oslo.
- A member of the delegation of Switzerland participating in the first pahse of Information Society (WSIS) in the World Summit where he led many negotiating groups among which the one on Internet governance.
From 2004 to 2005 he served as the Executive Coordinator of the WSIS Working Group on Internet Governance.
