Michael Young is the Chief Technical Officer, and founding member, of Architelos, a Top-Level Domain consulting and managed registry Services Company. As CTO, Michael administers product development, technology and security, integration services and supports delivery platforms. Michael’s career encloses 20 years of experience, covering many core functions in technology such as research and development, operations, project management and development, data services, quality assurance, and customer service. [1] He is also a member of RySG, holding the title of Vice Chairman within the Stakeholder Group and Constituency Operations Work Team.[2]

Career History

Michael began his career in the financial services sector, as a founding I.T. manager, for GMP Securities. In 1995, when the company was founded, Michael joined with consent to build an internal I.T. infrastructure and establishment. Within four years, to the start of the new millennium, Michael instituted a notable I.T. support team with inter-office network services and a highly advanced trading platform. He also launched an electronic-only Pro-Traders Floor, one of the first of its kind, during his time at GMP. In February 2000, Mr Young moved to Grocery Gateway as Senior Project Manager in the Business Systems division, and helped deploy technology across all distribution centers. This implementation of end-to-end management technology proved ground-breaking, initiating lasting changes in supple chains, across e-commerce delivery services.

After 18 months at Grocery Gateway, Michael was hired at Afilias at Vice President of Product Development. During his time within this position he led and implemented business cycles for all products, ensuring a standard in quality, readiness and implementation of delivery, business development, and marketing and sales. For almost ten years, Michael guaranteed Afilias remained a powerful face and key participant in winning, and retaining business. In June 2011, Architelos was Michael’s next project. Employing him as CTO, they not only brought an avid technologist but an individual with 20 years of execution in I.T. administration, successful in both startup and established outfits, authorizing winning bids and building service teams.

Education

Michael achieved his BA in English at the University of Toronto in 1990, and later, whilst working at Afilias, is MBA at the Finance and International Business, Queen’s University, in 2006.
