Michele Neylon (Irish: Michela Ó NIALLÁIN) is founder and managing director of Blacknight Internet Solutions Ltd, an Irish domain registrar and hosting company. He also is a domainer, running sites like Films.ie, Wallpapers.ie, Search.ie in his free time.[1]

Mr. Neylon actively participates in the Internet and ICT industry in Ireland as well as being involved in a number of open source projects. He is involved in the Irish Internet Association, and represents the association on the Irish Enum Policy Advisory Board.[2] Neylon is also active within the ISP Association of Ireland, and has sat on the Registrar Advisory Board of the .eu registry, EURid, from March 2010 till April 2016.[3] Since May 2017, he is a member of the eco Association Names & Numbers Steering Committee.[4]

Michele Neylon is involved with various other ICANN and GNSO groups, such as being a voting member of the Registrars Stakeholder Group within the GNSO and being a GNSO Counselor.[5] In February 2013, Mr. Neylon was chosen to serve on the Expert Working Group on gTLD Directory Services, applications were submitted voluntarily, and then narrowed down from over 70 to just over a dozen. The EWG is to report to the board, with a mandate to "1) define the purpose of collecting and maintaining gTLD registration data, and consider how to safeguard the data, and 2) provide a proposed model for managing gTLD directory services that addresses related data accuracy and access issues, while taking into account safeguards for protecting data."[6]

Mr. Neylon's blog has garnered him attention and awards from the IIA, and his blogs have been picked up as syndicated articles by various news sources. He has also published regular columns for both print and electronic sources.

Michele Neylon speaks four languages and is a film buff.[7]

Awards

Michele has frequently been considered for awards from the Irish Internet Association Net Visionary Awards. In 2005 & 2006 he was shortlisted in the Internet Entrepreneur category, and was also shortlisted for Best Blogger in 2006. In 2008, he was shortlisted for, and won, IIA Net Visionary Awards for Best Blogger and Internet Marketer; that year he was also shortlisted for Internet Entrepreneur. He won the IIA Net Visionary Award for Best Use of Social Media in 2010.[10]

He was awarded the Best Business Blog in 2009 by The Irish Blog Awards.[11]

Blogs posted on his site and on ISquattedYour.eu have been syndicated on sites such as CircleID and Domain Name News. PC Live published a monthly column by Neylon until July 2008, and he wrote regular column for the ICT supplement of the Sunday Business Post throughout 2008. [13]

CircleID recognized Michele Neylon for writing one of the top 10 most read news articles or blogs on their site in 2010. His blog post, "XXX Continues", placed 6th with 11,073 views.[14]

Mr. Neylon regularly writes in response to ICANN decisions and meetings.[15]
