The Non-Contracted Parties House holds an annual Intersessional meeting that gathers representatives from all of the non-contracted communities of the GNSO. The representatives gather as a group with ICANN Staff outside of a typical ICANN Public Meeting setting to discuss longer-range substantial community issues. Los Angeles was chosen because of budgetary reasons; the meeting is being held directly after the GNSO Council Strategic Planning Session, saving on travel costs for 22 participants, and because senior ICANN staff are based in this city. Many senior staff did not travel to the Intersessional in Iceland, resulting in feedback from participants that moving forward they would appreciate the participation of the [[ICANN CEO|CEO]].
